FIFA WORLD CUP  1930 to 2022.

Intoduction:

Federation International de Football Association or commonly known as FIFA is the apex body of football. According to its official descriptin it is the governing body of association football , fustas , beach footballl and e-football.

A Brief Journey From Past to Present:

FIFA was founded in the year 1904 on 21 May in Paris , France. This 116 years of journey have changed a lot of things – Headquarter , Logo , President but the spirit of football remains as it was in the beginning.

Present Headquarter of FIFA is in Zurich , Switzerland.

Logo transformation:

First president of FIFA was Robert Guerin. In 1906 he was replaced by Daniel Burley Woolfall. Present president of FIFA is Giovanni Vincenzo  "Gianni" Infantino. He was elected as president on 26 February 2016.

World Cups At a Glance:

1st FIFA world cup was held in 1930 in Montevideo,Uruguay. Uruguay defeated Argentina and become the first country to win the first World Cup.

21st FIFA World Cup was held in 2018 in Russia. It was the 11th time the match had been held in Europe and the first time held in Eastern Europe. Zabivaka was the official mascot , Its meaning in Russian is “The one who scores”. Telstar 18 and Telstar Mechta were the official balls manufactured by Adidas.

The final match was held in Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow between France and Croatia. France defeated Croatia (4-2) and won thei second world cup.

Iceland and Panama made their first appearances in this world cup. Luka Modric of Croatia was voted the best player and won Golden Ball. Thibaut Courtois of Belgium won the Golden Glove.

22nd FIFA World Cup is scheduled to held in Qatar. This will be the first time the World Cup held in Middle East.

23rd FIFA World Cup will be hosted by Canada and Mexico (USA) in 2026.
