Mumbai Court Denies Bail To Rhea
Chakraborty : Death & Drug Case So
Far.
The suicidal death of Sushant Singh Rajput has
witnessed many surprises. It took the whole Bollywood industry into a roller
coaster ride. Nearly three months after the tragic incident, Rhea Chakraborty became
the 10th person to be arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).
Sushant’s former cook Dipesh Sawant and former housekeeper Samuel Miranda,
Rhea’s brother Showik have been already arrested.
Mumbai
Police started investigaton and recorded statements of Sushant’s friends,
managers, dierector’s, film personalities and also his psychiatrist. But their
main focus was on his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty. In her statement she said
that Sushant was upset over a contract.
On 23rd July Rhea tagged Union Home Minister Amit Shah and requested for a CBI probe into his death.
Five
days later FIR was registered in Patna against Rhea Chakroborty, Indrajit
Chakroborty, Sandhya Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty, Samuel
Miranda and Shruti Modi.
The FIR was filed under IPC Sections
306 (Abetment
of Suicide),
341 (Wrongful Restraint),
342 (wrongful
confinement),
380 (theft in
dwelling house),
406 (criminal
breach of trust)
and 420 (cheating).
Four team of Bihar Police left for Mumbai on 29th
July, the same day Rhea moved to Supreme Court she was seeking to transfer the
Patna FIR to Mumbai.
On 7th August the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned Rhea based on the FIR lodged by K K Singh in Patna, accusing Rhea and her family members of cheating and withdrawing Rs 15 crore from Sushant’s bank account.
On 26th August, Narcotics Control Bureau
(NCB) filed a criminal case against Rhea Chakraborty and Three others under NDAPS
(Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act. For consumption of
cannabidiol, LSD, MDMA and marijuana.
On 4th September Showik and Samuel
were arrested for possessing non-commercial quantity of marijuana. On 8th
September Rhea was finally arrested and sent to 14-day judicial custody.
On 11th September Rhea has been denied bail and she is in Mumbai’s Byculla jail.
